Photographing anything Chef Ryley Eckersley puts on a plate makes me happy. He’s a genius in food flavors and creating unique delicious dishes. And he’s an artist. The plating is always stunning. The best part is Ryley acknowledges that I am an artist as well and he just hands me the dish and says… now you do you. I love it.

My first photo shoot at his new restaurant, Äniks, was exactly that- two artists doing their thing. I photographed the dishes/drinks in two ways; first a more “artistic” (playing with light or angles) image and then a few additional photos with pretty light to showcase the dish. Ryley has two sides to Äniks; a tasting menu + pairings dinner, and an Afternoon Tea. The first 17 images are based on dinner/cocktails and the last few images are the Afternoon Tea. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed capturing the food and drinks. …And, of course, visit Äniks. Rylye never disappoints.
